A SELECTION OF REFINERY PROJECT

Phases 6, 7 and 8 are included among the Eastern-Central phases of South Pars Gas Field. The onshore establishments and facilities of Phases 6, 7 and 8 border the Persian Gulf in Assaluyeh region in an area measuring about 150 hectares, between the refineries of Phase 1 and Phases 4 and 5 of South Pars, in Pars Energy Economic Special Zone. The wells and offshore platforms of Phases 6, 7 and 8 are located almost 105 km away from the Persian Gulf coast.

Development of Phases 6, 7 and 8 of South Pars Gas Field Project was assigned to Petropars with the aim being to extract and transfer 3 billion cubic feet per day of gas out of 30 wells located on 3 wellhead platforms, and subsequent refining of the same gas in the onshore facilities and  establishments. Upon expansion of this Project, the  production capacity of Phases 6, 7 and 8 was revamped by 30% to be able to process 3.9 billion feet per day of sour gas, out of which 3.29 billion cubic feet of dry sour gas is transferred, through IGAT V National Gas Grid, for injection into Aghajari oil fields.

Development of Phases 6, 7 and 8, as the greatest project in the history of Iran’s oil industry, was completed as scheduled.

The condensates separated in the onshore facilities are exported through the sub-sea pipeline and SBM. Further, upon its sweetening, the LPG produced therein is transferred to Pars jetty for exportation.

The phases 9 and 10 of South Pars gas field are designed to produce 50 MMSCM/d of natural gas as well as gas condensate, ethane, butane and propane (LPG) and sulfur. Offshore facilities are two gas production platforms with 24 gas wells, two 32” subsea pipelines for transferring gas to the onshore refinery and two 4” pipelines for transferring glycol.

The Onshore Section of Phase 1, which borders the Persian Gulf in Assaluyeh (approximately 270 km East-South of Bushehr Port) measures 141 hectares at Pars Special Economic Energy Zone. The wells and offshore platforms of this Project are located 105 km away from the Persian Gulf Coast.
